PBB's Jerome Alacre Comes Out As Gay

It's been 4 years since Fifth Pagotan's coming out as Bisexual during PBB All In, and 11 years since Rustom Padilla, now BB Gandanghari, came out as Gay during the first celebrity season. Now, there is another housemate who came out in the open. 

It was no other than Jerome Alacre, the 32-year old nurse from Tondo, Manila. He went to college through the efforts of Charity First, a non-government organization. He came out as gay in front of his other housemates after it was revealed that Tanner Mata who garnered a slot in the finals.

He joined the show so that he could serve as an inspiration to the youth in the slum areas who struggling with poverty and hard work. (ABS-CBN News, 2017)

Last week, nakilala na ang mga bubuo sa Dream Team ni Kuya.
Binubuo ito ng mga celebrities, teens at regular housemates na humarap sa kanyang mga pagsubok at nagpakatotoo. Here they are. Starting with:

Celebrities

Jinri Park, the "K-Hot Cover girl" of South Korea. She garnered the First Lucky Star after her success in the Big Jump challenge.

Marc Carlos "McCoy" De Leon, ang "#BoyTatag" ng Tondo.

Nikko Natividad, ang "#BoySipag" ng Bulacan.

Sila ay ang 2-in-1 housemates na nakuha ang Second Lucky Star dahil sa boto ng sambayanan.

Nonong Ballinan, ang "Kanto Komikero" ng Novaliches.

Pinili ng mga Regular Housemates para makuha ang Third Lucky Star.

at si Elisse Joson, ang "Hugot Babe" ng Mandaluyong. Dahil sa sakripisyo ni Yassi, na nanalo sa 4th lucky star challenge, ipinasa na niya ang kanyang slot kay Elisse.

Teens

Edward Barber, the "Cheerful Charmer" from Germany. He garnered the First Lucky Sun due to his success in the Big Jump challenge.

Kirsten Danielle "Kisses" Delavin, ang "Miracle Child" ng Masbate. Nakuha niya ang Second Lucky Sun dahil sa text votes.

Marydale "Maymay" Entrata, ang "Miss Wacky Go Lucky" ng Cagayan De Oro City. Nakuha niya ang Third Lucky Sun dahil sa mga boto ng taumbayan. Siya rin ay pinili ng mga Celebrity Housemates para maging official Teen Housemate.

Cornillo "Yong" Muhajil, ang "Pag-a-Son ng Angkan" ng Zamboanga. Siya ay nakakuha ng 4th Lucky Sun makaraan ang pagkapanalo niya sa 4th slot challenge.

Regular Adults

Tanner Mata, the "Incredible Hunk" of Nueva Ecija. He earned the first slot after his success in the Big Jump Challenge.

Aura Azarcon, ang "Med of Honor" ng Las Pinas. Nakuha niya ang ikalawang Lucky House dahil sa boto ng sambayanan.

Jerome Alacre, ang "Overseas Filipino Warrior" ng Tondo. Pinili ng mga Teen Housemates para sa 3rd lucky house. He had recently revealed his homosexuality to his fellow housemates.

Cora Waddell, the "Dazzling Daughter" of Bulacan. She earned the 4th slot after her success in the 4th slot challenge.

Sa parehong linggo, doon inannounce ang text voting in order to determine kung sino ang sasama kay Edward bilang parte ng Lucky Three Suns. My personal story.

When I was diagnosed with autism, my family was deeply shocked. It was like the sky fell on them. Ever since, they sent me to a special school hoping to cater my needs. But later years, I had experienced bullying and discrimination, especially to my teachers and classmates. Despite all these, I graduated in 2007. That was a fulfillment to me. Later, my mentor, Mrs. Marissa Manansala Villamor, introduced me to summer class in Irineo, in which I enrolled.Then, I was sent to many competitions that gave me the experience. In most competitions I won, and in some competitions I lost. I met new friends that are accepting and friendly to me. Then, I graduated in high school, that made everyone proud of me. During my college years, I joined many competitions and gained the friendship of my peers. In my third year of college, I had the courage to come out as gay to my friends. At first, they were shocked, like "Whoa!" and months later, I joined a major competition and I won. Then in my fourth year, I trained with the late Josephine Lomocso Guyos who is a nice person. And in December 2014, I finally won my inter-school quiz bowl in PRISAA. Then I graduated from college. Months later, I was besieged with trials and tribulations that shook my faith. Despite all that, I passed the Civil Service Examination with flying colors.

Life is hard being a gay person with autism. You have to endure bullying and discrimination from peers. But despite all of these, there were people who will readily accept you, especially your friends and your family. All you need is faith in God to overcome all the trials in your life. That's about it for now.
